P6 Learning Journey to Sentosa 2016: Day 3

We awoke to the chirping of birds perched on the trees from the nearby Fort Canning Hill. After a hearty breakfast, we journeyed to the peak of Fort Canning Hill to learn more about this historical site in Singapore.

Fort Canning Park

Fort Canning Park, an iconic hilltop landmark has witnessed many of Singapore’s historical milestones. The hill once sited the palaces of 14th century Malay Kings and served as the Headquarters of the Far East Command Centre and British Army Barracks. The decision to surrender Singapore to the Japanese on 15 February 1942 was also made on the hill, in the Underground Far East Command Centre, commonly known as Battle Box.

Today, Fort Canning Park is a venue for celebrations. Its expansive, sprawling lawns play host to concerts, theatre productions and festivals such as Shakespeare in the Park, Ballet Under the Stars, Shakespeare in the Park and Films at the Fort, while weddings, parties and gatherings are a regular sight in the park's venue spaces. Its ancient artefacts are a must-see for history buffs, and its lush greenery and expansive lawns offer a variety of arts, heritage and nature experiences.

With the tunnel walk, we concluded our Learning Journey to Sentosa 2016.

Day 2 Part 2

Skyride & the Luge!

After a short walk from the SEA Aquarium, we boarded the Skyride Chairlift and it took us to enjoy the fantastic panoramic scenery of the Singapore city skyline and beautiful coastline of Sentosa Island!

After reaching the top of the Luge, we could choose to either zip down 628 metres of the Jungle Trail or the 688 metre Dragon Trail as thrillingly fast or cruising slow as we liked. We truly enjoyed ourselves!!

After the exhilarating luge ride, we spent some time enjoying the sunset.

As the sun set into the horizon, we made our way to Bliss House Theme Restaurant for our buffet dinner.

A special tribute for a special Principal, Mrs Jennifer Choy
We surprised Mrs Choy with a tribute session to appreciate her for all that she has done for us as a level. Each class had a representative who spoke on behalf of the class to thank Mrs Choy. Each class also did an artwork

Yusrina singing a song of tribute to Mrs Choy

Raditya and Guo Yan reciting a self-penned poem to describe how Mrs Choy's love for the students has touched them

Thank you, Mrs Choy!
All the best in your future endeavour & God bless!
